Archey, Florence M. 94 a resident of the Lutheran Home of Hollidaysburg formerly of Gallitzin died January 22, 2013 at the home. Born October 2, 1918 in Gallitzin the daughter of the late John and Margaret (McCartney) Olson. Preceded in death by her husband Philip J. on May 21, 1974, an infant son Anthony, sisters Dorothy Templon and Rose Eckenrode and a brother John. Survived by children:
Florence married to Ronald Kowalczyk – St Augustine, FL
Phyllis married to Thomas Kippeny – Gallitzin
Michael married Vicki Horrax– Cresson
Grandchildren, Ron (Teresa) Kowalczyk, Kim (Mark) Decker, Alan (Rebekah) Kippeny, Philip (Hannah) Archey and David (Jillian) Archey, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and a sister Betty Dziabo- Gallitzin and numerous nieces and nephews. Florence worked as an aide at the former Cresson State School and also at Publix Shirt Factory, Gallitzin. She enjoyed Bingo and her dog TT. Member of Retired State Workers, Cresson senior Citizens and St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Saturday the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held Friday. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to a charity of your choice in Florence’s memory.
