Michael J. Filus 70, of Gallitzin died July 26, 2017 at Maybrook Hills Center, Altoona. Born Nov. 6, 1946 in Altoona the son of the late Frank J. and Helen (Brinzey) Filus. Survived by son Shane – Pittsburgh and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike works as a Trade Instructor for SCI Prison in Cresson. An Air Force Veteran of Vietnam War. Mike was a Life member of Gallitzin Fire Company and Gallitzin American Legion. Member of Gallitzin Sportsmen’s. He enjoyed taking his classic car to shows, fishing, hunting and shooting guns at the sportsmen’s. A 1964 graduate of Gallitzin High School. A private Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Committal St. Mary Cemetery, Gallitzin. Military Rites by Gallitzin American Legion and other local military organizations.
