FENCHAK, George, 84, of Athens, GA passed away January 29th, 2024 in Athens, GA.
Born September 30th, 1939 in Dilltown, PA, son of the late Charles and Barbara Fenchak. Survived by wife, Elizabeth (Kischel) to whom he was married 57 years; daughter, Pamela Gardner, Encinitas, CA; daughter, Sharon Fenchak, Asheville, NC; daughter, Georgianne (Larry) Fenchak, Cary, NC; son, Christopher (Shannon) Fenchak, Lilburn, GA; 7 grandchildren, Isabel, Annah Rose, Jackson, George, Luke, Helen and Parker. George lived in Cresson, PA and then Athens, GA for the past 30 years. George served in the Army that led him into his career as a coal miner and machinist at Mine 33 in Ebensburg, PA. George was an avid golfer, vacationer, gardener, fisherman and he enjoyed hunting and bowling in his younger years, but his greatest skill was talking to any and everyone. George cherished time with his wife Liz, family and friends the most. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and spoke often of their accomplishments. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., in the Cresson United Methodist Church, Cresson, PA by George's Great Nephew Reverend Matthew Williams, celebrant. Veteran's service by the Cresson Area Military Honor Guard. Interment at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson, PA.
