Donna M. (Petyak) Decoskey

Donna M. Decoskey, 74, Gallitzin died October 9, 2017 at her home. Born December 10, 1942 in Gallitzin the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Glass) Petyak. Preceded in death by a brother Dennis on December 29, 2012 and son-in-law Christopher Morrison on February 26,1994. Survived by her husband Robert D. whom she married August 24, 1999 and daughters, Brenda (Martin Jr.) Finklestine – James Creek, Lisa Morrison and fiancé David Stoy – Gallitzin and Amy (Christopher) Stevens – Loretto, step son Scott (Jean) Decoskey – Cresson, grandchildren; Martin III, Matthew (Jaime), Amanda (Jason) Larson, Stephen, Drew, Andra, Zachary, step-grandchildren, Brandon and Brianna Decoskey, great-grandchildren, Madison, Maddox, Jaxon, Auynn, Carter, Cohen and Leonie and a sister-in-law, Barbara Petyak and her children. Donna worked as a telephone operator for Bell Atlantic and Verizon. A 1960 graduate of Gallitzin High and 2 years at Mount Aloysius College, Cresson. She enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren, and cooking for holiday gatherings with family. She volunteered as grounds keeper with her husband at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Member of Gallitzin Alumni Association and organized her own class reunions yearly.  There will be no viewing or visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal Resurrection Mausoleum. The family suggest donations be made to Gallitzin Fire Co. PO Box 41, Gallitzin ,PA 16641 in Donna’s memory. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin.
