Francis G. Shevenock

Francis G. “Frank” Shevenock 92 Gallitzin died July 2, 2019 at Altoona Center for Nursing. Born October 27, 1926 in Gallitzin the son of the late George and Anna (Kuras) Shevenock. Preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Robert and George Jr. and sister Anna Marie Steele. Survived by his wife of 53 years the former Mary E. “Betty” Gargon and siblings, Rosella “Rose” Rocus, Joseph (Peggy) and Michael and sister-in-law Anna Mae Shevenock. A Marine Veteran of WW II Worked as a shipping clerk for Small Tubes. A 1944 graduate of Gallitzin High School. Frank enjoyed sitting on the swing, going to the farm to have family picnics and yard work, Member of Gallitzin American Legion and St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm Friday the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held Thursday. Military Rites by Gallitzin American Legion and other local military organizations.
