Fred J. Buzzella Jr.

Fred J. Buzzella Jr. “Jr. or Bugsy” 88 of Gallitzin died June 26, 2018 at his home. Born December 3, 1929 in Gallitzin the son of the late Fred J. Sr. and Lucy (Aveni) Buzzella. Preceded in death by his wife the former Linda Gibson on Nov. 29, 2015, granddaughter Michaela Gil on Dec. 19, 2000, a sister Nancy Carmosino and brothers-in-law, Ron Rickens and Charles Gibson. Survived by his children, Fred III married to Dalann Williams – Hollidaysburg, Lisa married to Joseph “Ray” Gil – Gallitzin and Lynn Buzzella – Alexandria, VA, grandchildren, Katelyn, Karissa, Alayna, Julia, and Maya, sister Shirley Rickens – Altoona, brother-in-law Valgene Carmosino – Gallitzin numerous nieces and nephews and all his care givers especially Julie Gray, Michelle Mentzer and Sharon Wolf. A 1948 graduate of Gallitzin High School. Worked as an Inspector for Conrail retiring in 1991.  A Korean War Veteran having received the Purple Heart. Member of Gallitzin American Legion, Italian Club and Ashville VFW. He loved his grandchildren and their dogs. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Friday the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends received from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held. Military Rites by Gallitzin American Legion, Ashville VFW and other local military organizations. The family suggest donations be made to St. Demetrius Church 811 Church Street, Gallitzin, PA 16641 in Jr’s memory
