Irene Myers

Irene “Peckie” Myers 92, Cresson died February 9, 2018 at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born June 22,1925 in Cresson the daughter of the late Clifford A. and Ellie (Sheehan) Adams. Preceded in death by her husband George on April 23, 2011, 2 infants, brothers, Randall, Robert and Elwood and son-in-law Jim Nalisnick. Survived by children Arlene Nalisnick – Towanda and William (Theresa) – Ashville, grandchildren, Laura (Greg) Steele, Joyce Kuykendall, Jennifer (Will) Hedgepeth and Billy J. (Heather) Myers, great-grandchildren, Stephen, Teddy, Zoe, Claire and Hallee. Sister of Francis (Mary Jo)- Cresson, sisters-in-law, Gilda Adams – Cresson and Kay Hooder – Lilly and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Cresson Senior Citizens and was co chairmen of bus trips, Cresson American Legion Auxillary for over 70 years, Cresson Fire Co. Auxilary, Cambria County Vol. Firemen’s Association and Cresson Presbyterian Church. Irene enjoyed her grand and great grandchildren, knitting, crocheting, gambling, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Monday and 10am until time of Funeral Service at 11am Tuesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin the Rev. Dave McCabe officiating. Committal St. Francis Xavier Mausoleum. The family suggest donation be made to Cresson Fire Company, 223 Ashcroft Ave. Cresson, PA 16630 or any local Veterans Organization.
