James Gardner Obituary

James L. Gardner 74, Gallitzin formerly of Fallentimber and Altoona died December 8, 2019 at Maple Winds in Portage. Born March 29, 1945 in Altoona the son of the late Robert A. and Syrilda (Litzinger) Gardner. Preceded in death by brothers, Robert Jr. and Paul and sister Patricia Shirock. Survived by his sister Catherine Kent and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Worked at the Pentagon for years as a Guard. Graduate of Altoona High School. Member of Gallitzin American Legion, Gallitzin Moose and the NRA. Jim enjoyed Pirate baseball, and loved Lynyrd Skynyrd music. Member of The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Friday the Msgr. Stanley Carson celebrant. Committal Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm Thursday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin.
