Kozel, Kenneth J. 82, Gallitzin died February 18, 2017 at home. Born October 21, 1934 in Gallitzin son of the late John and Stella (Dzielski) Kozel. Preceded in death by a grandson Bryan Lender. Survived by his wife of 61 years the former Leneva “Nini” Mulhern whom he married June 23, 1955 and daughters; Linda (Terry) Lender - Irvona , Karen (Rick) Denkovich – Greencastle and  Elaine  (Chris) Miller – Mechanicsburg, grandchildren, Michele (Neil) Shaner, Michael (Cyndi) Lender, Mark (Renee) Lender, James Lender, Andrea (Ryan) Daly, Alex Denkovich, Olivia Miller and Frederick Miller, great-grandchildren, Morgan, Landon and Brendan Shaner and Ashlyn Daly, brother of, Helen “Cookie” (Frank) Cooper – St. Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews Ken worked as a meat cutter for Martin’s in Duncansville and retired in 1997 A 1952 graduate of Gallitzin High School. Life member and past Grand Knight of Knight of Columbus St. Pius X Council, Gallitzin who will have a memorial service at 6:30 pm Tuesday. A Gallitzin Borough Council member for 11 years, member of Gallitzin Sportsmen’s, PNA and former Gallitzin Moose. Ken enjoyed spending time his family, bowling, hunting, fly fishing, the Steelers, Pirates, Penn State and Pitt. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal St. Mary Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 8pm Tuesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held. The family suggest donations be made to St. Demetrius Church or St. Pius X Knights of Columbus in Ken’s memory.
