Mary E. (Smith) Melhorn

Mary E. Melhorn 81, Gallitzin died March 10, 2019 at Maybrook Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center, Altoona. Born January 24, 1938 in Cresson Shaft the daughter of the late Stephen and Alice (Noland) Smith. Preceded in death by her husband Robert Oct. 13, 2013, grandson Shane Vincent June 14, 1998, sister, Margaret “Peggy” Myers March 19, 1998 and brother, Gary Smith, Nov. 1, 2014. Survived by her children; Carol (Paul) Franjesevic – Niles, OH; Richard – River Falls, WI and Susan (David) Vincent – Cresson, grandchildren, Billy (Rachel) Rickens, Jamie (Michael) Linger, Deena Vincent, Samantha (Randy) Ickes and Shelby Vincent (fiance Troy Burger), great-grandchildren, Courtney, Kali, Emily and Natalie Linger, Megan, Ashley and James Rickens, Jacob and Elizabeth Adams and Isaac Ickes and Anthony and Donald Kephart, sister of June (Edward) Eger – Duncansville and James (Patricia) Smith – Lehighton. Mary worked as a seamstress and also as a Day Care Worker. Member of Chest Springs Senior Citizens. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Thursday and from 10am until time of Funeral Service at 11am Friday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin the Rev. Albert Ledoux officiating. Committal St. Patrick Cemetery. The family suggest donations be made to Gallitzin Fire Co. PO Box 41, Gallitzin, Pa 16641 in Mary’s memory.
