Thomas Benjamin” Urbs” Urbain, 50, of Cresson died unexpectedly on November 4, 2017 at UPMC Altoona hospital after a brief aggressive illness.  Tom was born July 16, 1967, in Jeannette PA to Thomas Allen and Judith Ann (Adams) Urbain.  He lived in both Patton and Ebensburg growing up. On September 13, 1997 he was married to Maria Lynn (Myers) Urbain at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gallitzin PA by Msgr. He also thoroughly treasured having a big group of family and friends over each 4th of July for fun, food and fireworks.   He was a lifetime member of A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania and the founding president of the Cambria Summit Chapter located in Cresson.  He was the recipient of their Distinguished Service Award for over 20 years of dedication to motorcycling causes and awareness.  He was an ardent supporter of BikePac.Tom graduated from Bishop Carroll High School Ebensburg in 1985 and he enjoyed getting together with "the Committee” to plan the reunions with Fr. John Byrnes every 5 years at PJ's.   He was a member of the award-winning Band in his years there, playing percussion. Tom enjoyed many jobs though the years, including Laurel Extended Care Pharmacy where he met Maria while she was a Pharmacy Intern, and he was a Pharmacy Technician. For the past 15 years, Tom was employed as a Trainer/Instructional Designer at NPC in Claysburg, PA.  In addition to NPC, he began a new adventure for his love of all things Disney as a Magic Maker agent for Off to Neverland Travel, celebrating his 1-year anniversary in October.

Tom was a talented musician and was in numerous bands over the last 30 years.  His two favorite bands were Beyond Reason (guitarist) in the early 2000's and most recently the Rattlers Oldies Band as their drummer, both of them "family bands".   He and Tommy enjoyed a special weekend together playing music at Rattler Camp in Cross Forks in September.   Tom was a member of the Gallitzin American Legion Post 174 S.A.L, Ebensburg American Legion Post 363, Gallitzin Moose Lodge 185, and Gallitzin Sportsman's.   He played pool with his dad and brothers-in-law for many years at the Ebensburg Legion and in the mainline pool league. The family suggest donations may be made to All Saints Catholic School in Tom's memory,  220 Powell Ave, Cresson, PA 16630. Do not cry for Tom, instead have a "Happy Hour" and raise a toast to him.  He would want you to have a Magical Day.
