Timothy Clossin Obituary

Timothy G. Clossin 70, Altoona died May 28, 2018 at James E. Van Zandt Medical Center, Altoona. Born December 1, 1947 in Gallitzin the son of the late George and Marie (Landers) Clossin. Preceded in death by brothers, Albert and David and sisters Nancy Dashner and Agnes. Survived by his wife the former Mary Ann Bukowski whom he married Jan. 8, 1970 and these children, Tammy Young – Cresson, Timothy . (Gina) – Altoona, Tara (Leo) Long – Hollidaysburg and Travis – at home, grandchildren, Brandan (Kelly) Young, Bryce Young, Brianna and Timothy Clossin Jr., Jacob and Victoria Long, great grandchildren, Emmette and Alexis Young. Siblings Joyce “Snookie” (Larry) Rosian – OH, Joan (John) Vincent – Gallitzin, Cindy (Frank) Kowalski – Gallitzin and Brian Clossin – Gallitzin and best friend Robert Miller. Worked as a welder/Brakeman for Conrail retiring in 2004 after 30 years of service. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the 101st Airborne Unit, received the Bronze Star for Valor in combat, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Member of Gallitzin American Legion and Ashville VFW, Newburg Fire Co social member and Caesar Battisti. Tim enjoyed hunting, football especially the Steelers watching with Mary Ann and his boys, the Pirates, playing cards and making wine. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass that will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal St. Mary Cemetery. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. Military Rites by Gallitzin American Legion, Ashville VFW and other local military organizations.
