Barbara R. (Lang) Ferazzi

Barbara R. Ferazzi 95, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, of Cresson, PA died November 1, 2022, at her home. Born November 28, 1926, in Cresson the daughter of the late George and Helen (Connell) Lang. Preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel on January 12, 1997, brothers, H.C. “Connie”, George and Tom, and sisters Anne Marie Landy and Martha “Marcie” Salinas. Survived by her children, Thomas, James (Laura) and stepdaughter Beth (Ferazzi) Amodeo, grandchildren, Anna (Josh) Young, Jamie Amodeo, Gabe Ferazzi, Lily Ferazzi, Charlotte Ferazzi, and Eliot Kennedy, great grandchild, Henry Young and a sister, Virginia Connell. A 1948 graduate of Seton Hill University, Barbara was a retired home economics teacher for the Penn Cambria school district. She enjoyed golfing and was a long-time member of the Summit Country Club, Cresson. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and was a voracious reader. Playing bridge was also a favorite pastime and she was a member of many local bridge clubs. A devout Catholic, Barbara’s faith was of utmost importance and was a guiding force in her life. In 2014, she was awarded the Prince Gallitzin Cross for over 25 years of service at St. Francis Xavier Church and St. Vincent DePaul Society, Cresson. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, Cresson, at 1 pm Saturday with the Rev. Leo Arnone as celebrant. Committal will be held at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Cresson. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm Friday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. The family suggests that donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, Cresson as well as the Cresson Public Library, in Barbara’s memory.
