Obituary

David R. Beck 81, Cresson died January 16, 2023, at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg, Born December 8, 1941, in Altoona the son of the late Paul J. and Zelma E. (Diehl) Beck. Preceded in death by brothers, Paul Jr. Ralph and Kevin. Survived by his wife of 45 years the former Doreen Smithmyer whom he married August 19, 1977, stepsons, Richard J. (Shauntae) Iachini Jr.and Christopher P. (Susan) Iachini, step-grandchildren, Layla, Carina, Kelly (Matt) Poorman, sisters and brothers, Judy Lutz, Meredith (Tom) Hurliman, Brian (Jane), Gary (Sue) and Aimee (Karl) Langensiepen and numerous nieces and nephews. Army Veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. Dave worked at Butterrick Pattern Co in Altoona. Member of the Cresson American Legion, and Gallitzin Sportsmen’s. Dave enjoyed target shooting, reading and working in his yard. At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing or visitation. A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cambria County Humane Society in Dave’s memory. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin.
