David J. "Doc" Holliday Sr.

David J. “Doc” Holliday Sr. 85, Gallitzin died April 6, 2021 at Maple Winds, Portage. Born March 6, 1936 in Portage the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Mackoviak) Holliday. Preceded in death by a son David Jr. on October 10, 2012, brothers, Larry, and Joe and sisters, Sarah Nevling and Mary Lou Garber. Survived by his wife the former Nancy Kunsman whom he married March 5, 1956, children Becky Lego and David Collins, grandchildren, Andrew (Lindsay) Cruse, Thomas Lego, Ashley (Sathya) Aswathappa, Brad (Shea) Lego, Joshua Holliday, Sabastian Collins, and Zoey Collins, great-grandchildren, Evan, Cody, Palmer, Rowan, Declan, Landon, Logan, and Mina. Dave was the last member of his family and worked for Bethlehem Mine 33 and retired in 1994. Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting watching the Steeler’s and Gunsmoke and especially being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Member of Gallitzin Sportsmen’s and UMWA. There will be no viewing or visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Friday at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal Resurrection Mausoleum. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. The family suggest donations be made to a charity of their choice in Dave’s memory.
