Douglas "Boomer" Litzinger

Douglas W.” Boomer” Litzinger 61, Gallitzin died January 20, 2020 at UPMC Altoona. Born October 15, 1958 in Altoona the son of Robert and Sally (Simmers) Litzinger. Preceded in death by his father and a brother Anthony. Survived by his mother, his fiance Naomi Maul  son Robert (Virginia) Burns and his grandchildren Makenna, Maddalyn and Baylee, son, Brian Nilsen a sisters Lois and her husband Nick Kush their son Niko, and Robin Smith, sister-in-law Samantha Litzinger and her children, Robert, Morgan and Kristen, his “Little Dude” Rylan and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Doug retired as a Corrections Officer. A 1976 graduate of Penn Cambria High School. Active Life member of the Gallitzin Fire Company and served as Fire Police Captain. Was an EMT with Gallitzin and Cambria Alliance Ambulance Services, Member of the Guardian VC, Cambria County Firemen’s Assoc. and former member of Central District Firemen’s Assoc., Gallitzin Sportsmen’s Club, Jaffa Shriners and Summit Lodge # 312 Free Accepted Mason,Central City American Legion Post 449 and former member of Gallitzin American Legion. Boomer lived and took care of his mother. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his family and friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 pm Friday and 10am until time of Funeral Service at 11 am Saturday Pastor Katie Maul-McCullough officiating at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin.
