Francis L. McTavish Jr. 85, Major, USMC (Retired) Silver Springs, MD formerly of Gallitzin died peacefully March 12, 2018 in his son’s home in MD. Born April 24, 1932 in Lilly the son of the late Francis Sr. and Kathleen (Carrig) McTavish. Preceded in death by his wife the former Dona Rose Jackson, sons Francis L. “Monty” III. and Michael T. Survived by his children; Kevin (Kim), Michael (Vikki), Timothy (Maureen), Patrick, Kathleen, and Susan (Danny) Carter, grandchildren, Kelly, Chris, Katie, Erick, Kristen, Katie, Mickey, Brigid, Ryan, Gavin, Keriann, Shannon, Meghan, Michael, Bubba, Patrick, Danny, Eric, Kyle, and Kate, a sister Cindy, brothers, Larry Tom, and Jon McTavish. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Friday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Silver Springs, MD.  A grave site service will be held at 10:30 a m Saturday March 24, 2018 at St. Patrick Cemetery, Gallitzin the Rev. albert Ledoux officiating.
