Helen S. "Shorty" (VanNest) Beck

Helen S.”Shorty” Beck 77, Loretto passed away August 21, 2020 at her home. Born January 13, 1943 in Loretto, Helen was the daughter of the late Francis and Louise (Yeckley) VanNest. Preceded in death by a daughter Patsy Ellis on November 30, 2015, grandson Bryan Beck on October 21,2006, brothers John and Howard and sister Mary. Survived by her beloved husband Albert whom she married on May 2, 1959, children, Robin (Bob) Lee, Rodney (Christina), Paula Beck, and Glenn (Kimberly), son-in-law Don Ellis, grandchildren, Craig (Sarah), Chad (Lindsay), Timothy (Emily), Scott (Christy), Mandy (Chris Percinsky), Joshua, Jared, Amber, Ryan, and Casey, great-grandchildren Ally, Collins, Kellan, Aubrey, Kinsley, Bryan, Bryanna, Kayi and Caleb along with numerous nieces and nephews. Helen in her earlier years sang in the choir with her angelic voice at St. Michael’s Church. Helen and Al always enjoyed being together, traveling around the area, flea marketing, and camping. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking. Loved to garden and enjoyed her flowers. Lifelong member of the Basilica of St. Michael The Archangel, Loretto where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2pm Tuesday the Rev.
