James “Jonesie” Jones 72, Gallitzin died April 28, 2022, at UPMC Altoona. Born February 1, 1950, in Altoona the son of the late Delbert and Christine (Hoover) Jones. Preceded in death by brothers, Daniel Paul and infant brothers and sisters. Survived by his children James Jr., Daniel (Michelle), Cory (Melissa), Debra Lynn (Josh) Mazzei, grandchildren, Abby, Joscelyn, Aiden, Landen, Olivia, Lucia, Claire, Simon, brother of Mary Ellen (Tom) Ehrhart and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim worked as an Occupational Therapist for the Cresson and Ebensburg Centers for 31 years. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. A 1968 graduate of Penn Cambria High School. Jim was a member of the Gallitzin American Legion and Gallitzin Sportsmen’s Club. He coached Pony and Little League in Gallitzin and was a Fireman. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm Sunday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held Sunday. Military Rites by Gallitzin American Legion and other local military organizations. The family suggest donations be made to Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, % Commandant’s Office, PO Box 319, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 in Jim’s memory
