James "Jimmy" Steberger

James F. “Jimmy” Steberger 72, Lilly devoted father and grandfather died August 25,2021 at UPMC Altoona. Born November 15,1948 in Gallitzin the son of the late Louis and Regina (Christy) Steberger Preceded in death by a brother Lewis, and nephew Jason Grodis. Survived by his loving wife of 47 years the former Patricia A. Grodis whom he married June 15, 1974, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gallitzin and a daughter, Maria (Leo) Hoover and son, Adam, and partner Ben Vena also grandchildren Sophia and Miley Hoover, sister-in-law Darnell Steberger, brothers-in-law, Frank (Donna) Grodis and Steve Grodis, nieces and nephews, Scott (Jackie) Steberger, Stacey (Jr.) Frederick, Lou Ann Steberger, Douglas (Theresa) Steberger, Heather Grodis, Joe Grodis, and Jessie Grodis. Jimmy worked at the Altoona Center as a Residential Service Aide and retired in 2009. He enjoyed being with his family and going to the grandchildren’s games and sporting events. Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War. Former Commander of the Lilly American Legion. There will be no viewing or visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday August 31, 2021, at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Catholic Church, Lilly the Rev. Matthew Reese celebrant. Committal St. Mary Cemetery, Gallitzin.
