James L. "Moe" Troy

James L. Troy (Moe) of Gallitzin, passed away Thursday December 30, 2021, at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born in Altoona September 4, 1941, son of the late Mary Troy. He married Joan Freidhof on August 6, 1966, at St. Aloysius Church in Cresson. He worked as a truck driver and retired from Air Ground Express in December of 2008. He loved his work driving over the road and listening to country music, sitting on the porch, and being with his family, especially his granddaughters and attending their dance, school, and sporting events throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage, daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Michael Sklodowski and granddaughters Elizabeth and Olivia.

He is also survived by his beloved cat Harriet Rose. There will be no public viewing. Private service for family only with Rev Timothy Harris T.O.R officiating. Arrangements are by Gibbons Funeral Home 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. In lieu of flowers, donations memory of James can be made to the Cambria County Humane Society.
