John "Jack" Baum

John J. “Jack” Baum 87, Cresson died November 18, 2023, at UPMC Altoona. Born July 4, 1936, in Cresson, the son of the late John F. and Catherine (Ahles) Baum. Preceded in death by his wife the former Mary June Quartz, three grandsons, Thomas Jasper IV, Craig Baum, and Joseph Baum and a brother James. Survived by his children, John (Sandy), Gerald (Melanie), Susan Baum (Ken Karroll) and Cathy (Ray) Osmolinski, grandchildren, Jack Baum, Shannon Baum, Cossonie Baum, Christine (John) Schenk, Austin (Sarah) Osmolinski and Carly Osmolinski , great-grandchildren, Britne`, Ivan, Kyler, Kevin, Colt, Sophie, Bailey, Cameron, Lily, Thomas V, and his dog Doogie. Jack enjoyed working on cars, doing woodworking, antiques, and riding motorcycles. Social member of the Sankertown VFW. Jack worked as a route manager for Frito Lay, retiring in 1995 and also worked for Pepsi. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. Private committal at the convenience of the family.
