John Stiffler Obituary

John H. Stiffler 71, Cresson passed away suddenly February 3, 2022, at home. Born June 21, 1950, in Cresson the son of the late Paul and Augusta (Krupka) Stiffler. Preceded in death by sisters, Rosaline Weaver and Catherine Stiffler. Survived by his loving wife of 26 years Liz (Weakland) Stiffler whom he married September 9, 1995, and stepdaughter, Eileen Shannon, her children Noah Patrick, and Samantha Shannon and stepdaughter Rebekkah Warfield, sisters, Edna Mae Westin and Judy Kimmel and brother Gary Stiffler, daughter Andrea Rambeau and son Jay (Angie) Stiffler, 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews who were so dear to his heart. An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the 101st Air Borne, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device and Combat Infantryman Badge. Life Member of Sankertown VFW and member of Cresson American Legion and Vietnam War Veterans. Past President of Cresson Lions Club for 6 years. John loved gardening and providing his fruits and vegetables to neighbors and friends. John loved spending time camping and a sharpshooter in hunting. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm Saturday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin followed by a funeral service at 4 pm the Pastor Peter Joudry officiating. Committal Cresson Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Veterans Park, Cresson in John’s memory. Military Rites by Sankertown VFW, Cresson American Legion and other local military organizations.
