Joseph F. Kochara 82, Gallitzin died September 27, 2022, at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born September 10, 1940, in Gallitzin the son of the late John and Eileen (Chirdon) Kochara. Preceded in death by brothers, Daniel “Dink,” John, Mark, and infant brother George and infant sister Eileen.. Survived by his children, Linda (Wayne) Hippo, Michael (Shirley Watt), George, and Jim (Lesley Marshall), grandchildren, Stephanie (Jonathan) Onorato, Lauren Hippo, Adam (fiance Maria Lourdes Friertez Francisco) Kochara, Jesse, John, Sophia and Christopher Kochara, great-granddaughter Rowan Onorato brothers and sisters, Ann (Ed) Sweet, Michael (Barb) Marie Burns, Paul (Deb), Jane Maurer, Kathleen “Kate” Vinglas, Tom (Mercedes) and Pat (Evelyn), Jim (Isabella). and a sister-in-law LeAnn Kochara. Joe worked as an aide at the Altoona Center. Joe is an Army Veteran. Joe loved hunting rabbits with his grandson John and friends Jim Wilt and Mike Cherico, fishing, and golf. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday October 1st at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal St. Patrick Cemetery. The family suggest donations be made to Cambria Alliance Ambulance Service, 725 2nd Street, Cresson, PA 16630 in Joe’s memory. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin.
