Joseph A. Zurilla Jr.

Joseph A. Zurilla Jr. 79, Gallitzin died January 27, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown. Born April 14, 1943, in Lilly the son of the late Joseph A. Sr. and Anna (Nesbella) Zurilla. Preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Anne on December 29, 2015. Survived by his wife of 58 years the former Beatrice Wilk whom he married April 18, 1964, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lilly, sisters and brother, Dorothy Zelenski, Barbara Butterbaugh, and Edward Zurilla and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe worked for the CIA retiring in 1993 after 33 years’ service. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Member of the Lilly American Legion and Lilly GBU. A graduate of Lilly-Washington High School. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening known as Farmer Joe and making homemade wine. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal Mount Carmel Cemetery, Lilly. Friends will be received from 3 to 6 pm Monday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held Monday. Military Rites by Lilly American Legion.
