Kathleen A.” Kathy” Strasser 73, Gallitzin died August 25, 2021at UPMC Altoona. Born January 18, 1948, in Gallitzin the daughter of the late Regis and Rose (Salpino) Ratchford. Preceded in death by a grandson Conner an infant sister Rose Marie, brothers, James, and Thomas “Rege”. Survived by her husband of 52 years Robert Strasser whom she married Oct. 19,1968 at St. Patrick Church, Gallitzin, and these children Scott (Erica), Christopher (Stephanie), Robyn (Johnny) Hughes and Kristen (Dave) Cummings, grandchildren, Aislinne (Benjamin) Robison, Carolinne (Brian) Bradley, Madelinne, Eric, Sydney, Hannah, Ryan, and Graham Strasser, Aubrey and Christian Hughes and Kaiden and Breann Cummings, also 2 great-granddaughters Ainsley and Emory. Sister of Mary Agnes (Dr. Edward) Maruca, Donald (Donna) Ratchford, and Atty Daniel (Dana) Ratchford, sisters-in-law, Shirley Ratchford and Marge Ratchford. Kathy worked as a Medical Transcriptionist at Garden City Hospital, MI and retired in 2004. A 1965 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School, Ebensburg. Kathy enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, shopping, crossword puzzles, crypto gram, playing pinocle and spending time with her family. Member of the Women of the Moose and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Monday the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal Resurrection Mausoleum. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm Sunday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held Sunday.
