Leona M. Bem 83, a resident of Golden Living Center–Hillview formerly of Gallitzin died October 1, 2021, at UPMC Altoona. Born November 30, 1937, in St Augustine the daughter of the late Harvey and Catherine (Seymour) Wilt. Preceded in death by a brother Harvey Jr. Survived by her husband of 65 years Michael “Ed” whom she married May 1,1956 in St. Augustine, children, Michael E. Jr. (Rose Schenk), Joseph “Larry” (Jean Buck), Richard (Beth Ann Templon), Kathy Storm (Jeff Harpster) and Robert (Kristine), 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and a great-granddaughter to be born in December, and brothers and sisters, Betty Roberts, Grace Weakland, Dorie McNulty, Eileen (Pat) Beiswenger, Norma (Fran) Hanlon, Alan Wilt and Jim Wilt and many nieces and nephews. Leona worked as a seamstress at J-Lyn, Publix and Tri-Tec factories. Leona enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, gardening, and canning. Funeral Service are private. Committal St. Mary Cemetery, Gallitzin. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin.
