Marion C. (Johnston) Lacorato

Marion C. Lacorato, 93, Altoona died peacefully at her home May 25,2020. Born June 22,1926 in Gallitzin the daughter of the late Charles and Charlotte (Larson) Johnston. Preceded in death by her husband Ralph R. on December 17, 1990 and daughter-in-law the former Joanna (Reilly) Lacorato, brothers, Paul, Louis, Russell and Donald and sisters Pauline, Lillian, and Doris. Survived by her son Ralph (Judy) Lacorato and daughter Nancy (Steven) Thompson, 3 grandchildren Sam (Anneke) Lacorato, Rob (Stephanie) Thompson and Cassie (Jim) Grassmyer, 8 great-grandchildren, Allante and Brenden, Emma and Dillen, Rio, Dayton, Oaklee and Jack. Marion best known as Nana, was a seamstress at a dress factory for many years. After retirement she spent most of her time babysitting, cooking, baking, and taking care of her family. Nana enjoyed dancing, shopping, playing cards and bingo, and watching her “stories” on TV. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. Due to the COVID-        19 restrictions, viewing and services will be private at the convenience of the family. Mass will be held at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin followed by committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. The family suggest donations be made to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Marion “Nana” memory
