Mary F. (Bratyszewski) Petyak

Mary F. Petyak 93 Gallitzin died May 26, 2022, at Haida Health Care, Hastings. Born October 8, 1928, in Gallitzin the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Vengrin) Bratyszewski. Preceded in death by her husband George Sr. on May 22, 2004, and grandson Alan Michael Petyak and brother and sister-in-law Bruno and Joyce Bratys. Survived by her sons Greg (Beverly Howell) and George Jr. “Buster,” grandchildren, Scott (Kris Clark) Petyak, Amber (Matthew) Phillips and Stacey (Philip) Baker, great grandchildren, Collin and Elaina Petyak and Nathan, Cameron and Ashtyn Phillips and Jaxson and Madison Baker. Mary worked as a seamstress at Holly Vent factory in Gallitzin. A 1946 graduate of Gallitzin High School and attended Mount Aloysius College for a year in Nursing. Mary was a member of the choir at St. Mary Church, she enjoyed dancing and music and especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Monday June 13 at St. Demetrius Activity Center the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal at St. Mary Cemetery, Gallitzin. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm Sunday June 12 at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held.
