Mary Ricche Obituary

Mary Catherine (Merlini) Ricche 80, passed peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on April 16, 2022. Born January 23, 1942, in Tunnelhill, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Philip & Mary (Stoskey) Merlini. Preceded in death by her husband John E. Ricche in 2013. She is survived by her four children: Philip Ricche (Andrea) of Glen Burnie, MD; Susan Salter (David) of Olney, MD; Mark Ricche (Laura McCann) of Gaithersburg, MD; and Kevin Ricche (Emily Hampton-Manley) of  Montclair, NJ; as well as four grandchildren: David Salter, Jr., Anne Marie Salter-Cho (SungWon); John Carlo Salter (Natalie Yee), and Michael Salter. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Merlini (Susan) and Rose Ann MacAlarney (Terry) both of Altoona, PA, and brothers-in-law Thomas Ricche (Theresa), and Joseph Ricche, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

“Muddish” as she was known by family and friends, moved to Montgomery County Maryland in 1964, where she enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother while maintaining an active presence in her Catholic faith.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday April 26th at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday April 27th at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson (Due to church renovations at St. Demetrius Church). Committal immediately following at St. Patrick Cemetery in Gallitzin. The family suggest donations be made to St. Demetrius Church, 811 Church Street, Gallitzin, PA 16641 in Mary Catherine's memory. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin.
