Robert J. (Bob) “Ecky” Eckenrode Jr. 91, Altoona died November 10, 2023, at UPMC Altoona. Born December 6, 1931, in Loretto, the son of the late Robert and Rose (Olson) Eckenrode. Preceded in death by infant great-grandchildren Leonardo and Lucille, brothers, Bill and Jim and sisters Mag Boldizar and Kate Crusciel. Survived by his wife of 67 years the former Florence “Flo” Gaida and these children, Tony (Anna Rose) and Tonya (Rod) Patterson, grandchildren, Ashley (Tyson) Pattillo, Anthony and Alyssa Eckenrode, Joseph and John Hallinan and Rodney Patterson II, great-grandchildren, Tyanna, Aleia, Tyson, Colton, and Jaiden, and a sister Annie (Gene) Crum, sister-in-law, Janet Eckenrode and brother-in-law Robert Crusciel and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. Bob retired as a purchasing agent @ Veeder-Root after 47 years’ service. Life member of James Noble VFW Post, Altoona. Bob proudly served his country in the Korean War. He enjoyed flea markets, yard sales and his family. Private viewing for his family. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Monday the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal Calvary Cemetery.
