Ronald LeComte, a lifelong resident of Cresson passed away November 9, 2023, at his home after a long battle with Fabry disease. Ron was the first to participate in a clinical trial of an enzyme replacement therapy at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh in 2001. Ron’s cousin Lynn Yetsko donated a kidney to Ron in 2006. Born March 20, 1960, in Colver the son of the late William and Carol (Cherico) LeComte. Preceded in death by brothers, Randy, Eugene “Benny” and Todd, sister Rhonda Mack and infant sister Renee. Survived by his wife the former Cynthia Eckenrode whom he married October 4, 1997, son Lucas and daughter Karly, brother Michael (Tracy) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He owned and operated Ronald LeComte Trucking, a business he ran for many years. Neil (Kelly) Mack his nephew was his right-hand man through the years for his business. Life member of the Italian Club, Cresson. Ron was a man of many passions, he loved anything with a motor and going fast, whether it was working on race cars or spending time at the track. He enjoyed boating with his family at Lake Raystown, but his favorite destination was Cancun. Ron also enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, and hanging out with lifelong friends at Camp Crawdad. However, his biggest joy was his family. Despite his long battle with Fabry disease, Ron never let the disease define or limit his joy. He was a fighter, and his strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew him. Ron will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. May he rest in peace. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 pm Saturday followed by funeral service at 4 pm Saturday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin the Pastor Todd Ritchey officiating.
