Rose Marie (Tutko) Benzie

Rose Marie Benzie 87, formerly of Gallitzin died June 15, 2022, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born July 21, 1934, in Gallitzin the daughter of the late George and Alma (Boldizar) Tutko. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph on June 27, 1994, daughter, Mary Ann Conrad on August 7, 2011, son-in-law, Rick Berkheimer, daughter-in-law Wanda Benzie and brother Tom Tutko. Survived by her children Louis (Carolyn Ball), Dianne (Ray) McElheny, Carol Ann (Kevin) Gray, Joseph Jr. (Colleen), Catherine Berkheimer, Gerald (RueAnn Surma), Lisa Benzie (Ryan Caboot), son-in-law David Conrad, 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Rosie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved playing the piano, reading and was a 1951 graduate of Gallitzin High School. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 Am Monday at St. Demetrius Activity Center the Rev. Albert Ledoux. Committal St. Mary Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9 am until 10:30 am Monday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. The family suggest donations be made to the Gallitzin Library, 411 Convent Street, Gallitzin, PA 16641 in Rosie’s memory.
