Ruth E. (Knee) Skupien

Ruth E. Skupien 94, Gallitzin passed away surrounded by her loving nieces the Greevey Girls. April 10, 2021 at Altoona Center for Nursing Care. Born August 5, 1926 in Tunnelhill the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Myers) Knee. Preceded in death by her husband Julius “Butch” on Sept. 2, 1997, son, David on August 20, 1997, daughter-in-law Cindy on June 30, 2019, sisters, Vivian Greevey, Mary Koons, Venetta Noble, Dorothy Poole and Pearl Gordon and brothers, Francis, Thomas, and James. Survived by grandson, Tommie, great grandson, Jayden, nieces Kathy (Butch) Albrano, Penny Dean, Joan Gregg, Dorothy (Bill) Lytle, Lee Ann Kochara, and Mary (Joe) Cicero and many other nieces and nephews. Last member of her family. Ruth worked at Sylvania. She enjoyed the Steelers, and bowling on Thursday in the Cresson Women’s League and Sunday in a mixed league. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal St. Mary Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin.
