Shirley J. (Stanley) Knee

Shirley J. Knee 81 Duncansville formerly of Gallitzin died August 15, 2022, at UPMC Altoona. Born September 25, 1940, in Gallitzin the daughter of the late Thomas E. Sr. and Ophelia (Keever) Stanley. Preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Brinzey and brothers Thomas “Lefty” and Donald. Survived by her husband of 59 years Charles J. Knee whom she married August 3, 1963, at St. Patrick Church, daughter Dr. Alicia Knee and son Darryl (Shannon) Knee, grandchildren, Lucas, Lydia, Evan and Blake, a sister Dorothy (John) Cooper special niece and nephews, Janice Pugh, Francis Chislow and Ronnie Chislow and numerous other nieces and nephews. Shirley retired as a secretary from Penna. DOT in 1972. A 1958 graduate of Gallitzin High School. Shirley was a 11-year donor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also enjoyed bingo and shopping with her sister JoAnne. Member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Duncansville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday August 20th at St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal Resurrection Mausoleum. Arrangements by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin. The family suggest donations be made to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Shirley’s memory.
