Valgene N. Carmosino 90, Gallitzin died May 26, 2022, at his home. Born November 14, 1931 in Gallitzin the son of the late Nicholas and Theresa (Fabbri) Carmosino. Preceded in death by his wife the former Nancy Buzzella on July 23, 2011, son-in-law Philip DeLozier and sister Dolores “Sissy” Lobre. Survived by children, Lugene DeLozier and Nicholas (Mary Jo Walter), grandchildren Nicholas III (Kelly) and their son Nico and Angela (Joshua) Conklin and their son James and numerous cousins. Valgene was the former owner of Laurel Lanes in Gallitzin. Val loved flying, working on old cars, snowmobiling, all sports. He played basketball for the Gallitzin Gremlin. Life Member of Gallitzin Fire Co. Member of Central Penna British Car Club, Coal Club Antique Car Club and was a amateur pilot. Member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson (due to construction at St. Demetrius) the Rev. Albert Ledoux celebrant. Committal Resurrection Mausoleum, Gallitzin. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church Street, Gallitzin where a vigil service will be held Tuesday also a Firemen’s Service will be held at 7 pm. The family suggest donations be made to Gallitzin Fire Co. P.O. Box 41, Gallitzin, PA 16641 in Valgene’s memory. Valgene was like Frank Sinatra, he did it his way.
